It really should be "to attempt to confound the feds" and it includes a nice history of all the anti-federalist conspiracy nutwing theories including Posse Comitatus started by racist anti-semite William Gale, the farm crisis, anti-taxation groups, militias, sovereign citizenship, Timothy McVeigh, and more settling in Baltimore prisons.
