So they read the Constitution and there were complaints that they didn't read the original text but rather the current text as amended. Ezra Klein wrote some common sense on it in Huck Finning the Constitution.
It didn't bother me so much except that it was obviously purely a stunt meant to point out that the previous majority somehow forgot the Constitution. But it seemed dumb to me because they all should have read it before they took their oath to defend it. Maybe they should have read it as a job description before they ran for Congress. But then not all of them managed to take the oath on time.
They also failed to read the whole thing as intended. It seems two pages stuck together and they skipped Article 4 Section 4 and part of Article 5. AND NO ONE NOTICED! Really? Did no one remember a part that was missed? Was no one reading along? What's the point of reading it aloud if no one listened?
Or rather, what's the point?
