New iPods

I didn't watch the Apple Let's Rock event today but I have read stuff about it. Some new iPods and headphones and iTunes has a song suggestion feature called Genius. It's pretty good.

It is about time to place my 40GB iPod (it's either 3rd or 4th gen). It seems pretty large now, the battery doesn't last as long as it did and I'd like a color screen to see the artwork I spent so much time adding to my music files. Also, it would be nice to have a way to carry photos around. I have two shuffles (one for music and one for podcasts, the 2nd one was a gift) and I really like having one iPod that contains everything.

So here's the problem. I have about 35GB of stuff and I just downloaded all the TEDTalks so that's another 18GB. Plus I have about 7GB in iPhoto (is that all?). I really like the screen and form factor of an iPod Touch, but 32GB isn't enough. I was hoping they'd announce one with a hard disk in it. The iPod classic might be the thing, but I know as soon as I get one they'll release the touch I want or change the dock connector format or something. I guess $250 isn't too much of a commitment.
