Politico reports Cheney group questions loyalty of Justice lawyers "Liz Cheney's group Keep America Safe, which has led the resurgent Republican attacks on President Obama's national security policies, is releasing a video this morning that questions the loyalties of Justice Department lawyers who advocated for detained terror suspects during the Bush Administration."
Liz Cheney and I have very different understandings of America. She's taking mine away from me and I want it back. See how I did the Glenn Beck vagueness thing? Clever, huh?
But of course I facts on my side. Even though she has a law degree, Liz Cheney clearly doesn't have an understanding of our legal system (you're innocent until proven guilty and you have a right to a defense attorney and a vigorous defense even if you are then found guilty) or the history of McCarthyism.
Let's trip her (and her ilk, because I like saying "ilk") up this way. In military tribunals, military lawyers represent Guantanamo detainees. Is Cheney questioning the loyalty of these soldiers? Is she suggesting our troops are terrorists?

This is a simple brand extension of the "Republicans will keep you safer than Democrats" crap that they have been selling for more than a generation.
This will sound harsh, but any people who are stupid enough to buy into this propaganda are partly responsible for the unfortunate results......
Their sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters sent off to die in far away places so that companies like Halliburton, Exxon and Blackwater can have a strong balance sheets.
It is a testament to the skills of the Republican propagandists, that two Chicken Hawk draft dodgers like Bush and Cheney managed to beat Al Gore, who volunteered to serve; he was not drafted into the Vietnam war, and John Kerry, who also voluteered for service in the Vietnam war and won a Bronze Star a Silver Star and Three Purple Hearts.
I still find it fucking (sorry but I have to use the word) amazing that Bush/Cheney could run, and win, on the national security issue given what cowards they both were, especially in comparison to the volutary service of Kerry and Gore in Vietnam.
I say we should draft Liz Cheney into the army, give her a rifle and faulty body armor (like her dad gave to Americans soldiers) and send her to Iraq or Afghanistan.
Oh that's right, she won't go cause like her dad before her, she's got "other priorities".
So it goes.
I apologize in advance for my lack of eloquence but the Cheneys are not deserving of eloquence.
And truth and logic don't matter to them or their followers either.
