Notes from Howard's Sabbatical from Working. The name comes from a 1998 lunch conversation. Someone asked if everything man knew was on the web. I answered "no" and off the top of my head said "Fidel Castro's favorite color". About every 6-12 months I've searched for this. It doesn't show up in the first 50 Google results (this blog is finally first for that search), AskJeeves says it's: red.
The only new one I caught was being able to voice dial by nickname. That's incredibly handy, and it brings me back to the days of yore, when I had a Nokia phone that was one of the first voice recognition phones. I had to pre-record any nicknames I wanted, three times "Call Howard", and then when I used the feature the phone would recognize what I was saying about 75% of the time.

First time I saw such a thing was with Ed. He had a co-worker Scott and he could open his flip phone and say "Scotty!" and it would dial him.
