I loved this article except that my first take on the title of the story was 'Yes, Milky, There Are Rabbits in Montana'. So, like Gilda Radner before me, I thought 'What's so special about rabbits in Montana?' and kept on reading. The next sentence brought 'In Montana, a rabbit is an unusual sight'. I became slightly irritated with an idiotic importance of unseen rabbits in Montana. But the very next sentence qualified the rabbit in question as Hasidic and then I knew that the rabbit was a rabbi.
It seems that my memory is indexed in a peculiar way so that retrieval is often faulty and produces unexpected results. Or maybe it's a pattern recognition problem.
Anyway, this article is wonderful and I laughed reading it to tears, being so happy for the trooper, the dog and the rabbit.
Sorry for the spoiler but it turns out that this was the true story on "bluff the listener" on this week's Wait Wait Don't Tell Me.
