I answered "no" and off the top of my head said "Fidel Castro's favorite color". About every 6-12 months I've searched for this. TiVo Lifetime Subscriptions Have Returned
Gizmodo reports TiVo Lifetime Subscriptions Have Returned. Now you can choose $12.95/month or $129/year or $299 for 3 years or $399 for the lifetime of the unit. Gizmodo says there's a $299 lifetime multi-room option too.
Funny how, looking at the comments, now some people are bitching that you could never recoup the money. Hogwash, I say. We bought our Tivo in August 2003. So we're coming on 5 years of service and no plans to stop, having paid the lifetime fee back then. I believe the current monthly fee is something like $12.95? Mine paid for itself a couple of years ago.
