Notes from Howard's Sabbatical from Working. The name comes from a 1998 lunch conversation. Someone asked if everything man knew was on the web. I answered "no" and off the top of my head said "Fidel Castro's favorite color". About every 6-12 months I've searched for this. It doesn't show up in the first 50 Google results (this blog is finally first for that search), AskJeeves says it's: red.
I liked it, it's well written. I don't want to be immortal, never did. It would be so awkward, not knowing what to do with yourself, no well delineated stages of life to go through. I should read more of her books. Larry really liked The Dispossessed but I still have not read it. The diamond things in this story are very cool.

It mostly worked for me, I guessed it pretty early on.
I liked The Left Hand of Darkness a little better than The Dispossessed but both are definitely worth a read.
