Notes from Howard's Sabbatical from Working. The name comes from a 1998 lunch conversation. Someone asked if everything man knew was on the web. I answered "no" and off the top of my head said "Fidel Castro's favorite color". About every 6-12 months I've searched for this. It doesn't show up in the first 50 Google results (this blog is finally first for that search), AskJeeves says it's: red.

More GOP Lies
digby writes "You can't dismiss this as fringe weirdos or 'entertainment,' can you? The official Republican Party is telling its members that Democrats may use voting registration information to identify and kill them. "

The modern (conservative) Republican party, starting with Ronald Reagan, has used innuendo, distortion, intimidation and outright lies as its primary political/voter tactics. All of these are aimed at eliciting base fear reactions among the more impressionable folks in our country. Can anyone say reptile brain stimulation coupled with racist tribal instincts?
Unfortunately, these people continue to have a disproportionate influence on our nation and our lives. Progressive/Liberals/Democrats need to move to some of the less populated states out West (and Florida too!) to vote out the troglodyte Senators from places like Idaho, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wyoming all of whom exert an absurdly disproportionate influence on issues affecting the entire nation, of which they represent a miniscule minority.
We need a new silent majority, except this time it needs to come from the "left".
