Notes from Howard's Sabbatical from Working. The name comes from a 1998 lunch conversation. Someone asked if everything man knew was on the web. I answered "no" and off the top of my head said "Fidel Castro's favorite color". About every 6-12 months I've searched for this. It doesn't show up in the first 50 Google results (this blog is finally first for that search), AskJeeves says it's: red.
I know, I know, I'm not a nice guy. He had a few useful things to say, but reading the overall story I just think "pretentious idiot." Early on he's licking Verizon's butt for being the perfect cellular network, the best you can get. Then he's blowing Sprint for their mobile broadband. He's chastising himself for spending $60/month on that service (which he undoubtedly writes off.)
Now, he wants a 2nd Prius? Why get another of the same thing? I'm not one of those gearheads who's always hating on the Prius, if mileage is your thing it's a good car, especially if you drive in a lot of traffic, but for a second vehicle one should perhaps look for one with different capabilities.
He can certainly do pretentious. Verizon does have the best network, it's good to hear someone say it. It's true he doesn't say why he has a sprint card vs a verizon one. I like that he lists the flaws with his slick phone and that he wouldn't buy it again. And that his perfect phone isn't from apple.
You might want a different second car unless two of you are commuting similarly.
