John McCain Doesn't Know the Price of Gas

Huh. John McCain Doesn't Know the Price of Gas. I'm ok that he hasn't pumped his own in longer than he can remember, but since he's proposing a gas tax holiday, I would expect him to be able to say around $4/gallon. It's not like there haven't been lots of news stories about it lately or that it's posted on large signs at gas stations everywhere.

Update: as noted in the comments, it wasn't as bad as the article makes it out to be.

It looks like the question was really about what gas cost the last time McCain pumped his own. Since that was back when God was young, I don't think it's surprising that he can't remember.

It was a very poor answer on his part, he should've said that it had been a long time since he pumped his own but the issue is that prices are now over $4... and he's recently said just that in a speech, that gas is over $4/gallon and oil is $134 a barrel, if I recall correctly.

He seems to be bad about throwing out the annoyed, off-the-cuff responses to things like this, like saying it doesn't matter how long our troops have to stay in Iraq when he was (probably) trying to say that if we magically make it a peaceful place, our troops can stay there without being in constant danger.

Yeah, that's a bullsh*t post. The question was "when was the last time, and how much DID it cost". I wouldn't know the answer either. And it's NOT important. What's important is how much it costs now. And that wasn't the question.
