I never thought that measles killed so many people,
it's in a second place after smallpox. My earliest memory is of being ill with measles at about 1 year old.
I was very sick and the room that I was in was darkened around the clock with curtains. It's more of a feeling of being in an abyss for a very long time. I definitely have a newly found respect for measles. If only parents vaccinated their kids!

My parents were good about vaccinating me and I credit you with getting me to get an annual flu shot :) In fact, it's that time of year...
