Happy Birthday Neptune

How long is a year on Neptune? Just under 165 earth years. Why is this significant? Because Neptune was discovered on September 23, 1846, which made yesterday it's birthday. To say Happy birthday Neptune, "These four images, taken a few hours apart with the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope’s Wide Field Camera 3, show Neptune, the eighth and outermost planet of the Solar System. Hubble’s images were taken to celebrate the first complete orbit of the planet since its discovery in 1846. The four images show different faces of the planet as it rotates on its axis."

Universe Today has a nice article explaining how Neptune was discovered by noticing irregularities in the orbit of Uranus and suspecting a planet's gravitational effect might be the cause. It also has some details on where Neptune is.
