And apparently they liked it, all 1500 calories, 97g of fat, and 2090mg of sodium of it. I won't be trying it.

I'm not sure. Half the joy of a cheese burger is the interplay between the cheese and meat, and with this dish, there is a layer of bread isolating them. Now maybe if they ditched the lettuce and tomatoe and added extra cheese? Plus it couldn't hurt to throw in a few strips of bacon.
Karl, you are a true cheeseburger maven. It is the delicate interplay of the animal fats and the complex fusion (at high heat) of the proteins of the dairy and beef which give the cheeseburger it's essential flavor.
Putting bacon on virtually anything is usually also a good move.
