Notes from Howard's Sabbatical from Working. The name comes from a 1998 lunch conversation. Someone asked if everything man knew was on the web. I answered "no" and off the top of my head said "Fidel Castro's favorite color". About every 6-12 months I've searched for this. It doesn't show up in the first 50 Google results (this blog is finally first for that search), AskJeeves says it's: red.

110 Best Books
Britian's Telegraph lists the 110 Best Books "From classics and sci-fi to poetry, biographies and books that changed the world… we present the ultimate reading list." Like any list, it's supposed to bring discussion. I've (only) read 15 of them.
Hey I didn't know you blogged, nice to see you. I have a lot on my reading list but unfortunately (and perhaps wrongly) there are lots of things before these on it.

I was suprised not to see the literary darlings Salinger and Kafka anywhere on the list.
