Notes from Howard's Sabbatical from Working. The name comes from a 1998 lunch conversation. Someone asked if everything man knew was on the web. I answered "no" and off the top of my head said "Fidel Castro's favorite color". About every 6-12 months I've searched for this. It doesn't show up in the first 50 Google results (this blog is finally first for that search), AskJeeves says it's: red.

Molecular Gastronomy
If you've watched some Top Chef and are curious about molecular gastronomy then you'll find What's Cookin in Science News Online interesting.
Interesting link. But on Top Chef it seems that the chefs are just trying to sound really cool when they use the term. I haven't seen them do anything like was described in the article. I wonder if they really know what it is... :)
Some of them (like Marcel) did occasionally. It's hard when the challenge is to make a souffle from what you find in a vending machine in 14 minutes. :)
