Notes from Howard's Sabbatical from Working. The name comes from a 1998 lunch conversation. Someone asked if everything man knew was on the web. I answered "no" and off the top of my head said "Fidel Castro's favorite color". About every 6-12 months I've searched for this. It doesn't show up in the first 50 Google results (this blog is finally first for that search), AskJeeves says it's: red.

Democrats Drop Iraq Timelines
The Democrats caved, Iraq Timelines Dropped. I don't really understand, Bush is the one that needs the money, by not funding the war, withdrawl is the only option. Apparently about 100 Democrats (including Pelosi) won't vote for the bill.

My understanding is that it only gives funding to September, establishes some milestones, and they are going to attach other important things that Bush might have vetoed like the minimum wage increase.
It does only provide funds till september, which is the new "we won't know if it's working til date". The benchmarks are non-binding, if they aren't met, nothing happens. I heard the minimum wage thing too but am not sure about it. If 100 House dems don't go along I can hear the cries next election: "you voted against the minimum wage increase!" Idiotic in so many ways.
