Notes from Howard's Sabbatical from Working. The name comes from a 1998 lunch conversation. Someone asked if everything man knew was on the web. I answered "no" and off the top of my head said "Fidel Castro's favorite color". About every 6-12 months I've searched for this. It doesn't show up in the first 50 Google results (this blog is finally first for that search), AskJeeves says it's: red.
The real trick is to find a fun, creative way of dealing with this. Notes are boring. So is calling for a tow (though very effective).
Dumping garbage on the car would be fun, but you'd end up having to clean it when he drove off. Hmm, bannana in the tailpipe? Eggs on the windshield? Parking your own car in the driveway, with the tail sticking out and only a half inch away from the back of his car, so he can't pull backwards?
Perhaps finding a neighborhood kid and playing a game of catch. The kid should be no more than, say, 8 years old and stand with his back to the car. You should throw the baseball as hard as possible. Oops.
Having the car towed is only boring if you're not around when they return to their parking spot. If you watch their reaction, I know from personal experience that it can be highly entertaining.
