Notes from Howard's Sabbatical from Working. The name comes from a 1998 lunch conversation. Someone asked if everything man knew was on the web. I answered "no" and off the top of my head said "Fidel Castro's favorite color". About every 6-12 months I've searched for this. It doesn't show up in the first 50 Google results (this blog is finally first for that search), AskJeeves says it's: red.
"North Dumpling Island is a two acre (8,000 m²) island in Fisher's Island Sound off the coast of the U.S. state of Connecticut (although the island itself is actually in New York State). The island is owned by Segway Human Transporter inventor Dean Kamen. Kamen was denied permission to build a wind turbine on the island, so he allegedly declared that he was seceding from the United States, and he signed a non-aggression pact with his friend then-President George H. W. Bush."
He IS going all Blofeld. And all this from selling a dozen Segways...
Actually I have to say the lighting is pretty fascinating. Not so much the colored lighting on Stonehenge, but the implementation of the LED lights inside the house. Very nicely done.
How would you like to be the home builder on THAT project? Bringing all supplies and workers in via boat. Imagine what the quick run to the local hardware store is like when you discover you're out of finishing nails.
