Advertising Inserted Into Reruns

I know that to gain ad revenue, TV shows do product placements. Now it seems they are digitally inserting new advertising into reruns. /Film reports WTF: ‘Zookeeper’ Advertising Inserted Into ‘How I Met Your Mother’ Reruns?. I don't think I care, at least for these I'm sure I wouldn't notice, but this could make for some fun anachronisms.
