Metropolis (Uncut) Reviews, Films - The Independent

Fritz Lang's Metropolis has been restored to it's original form, adding over 30 mins to it. The Independent reviews the premiere showing in First Night: Metropolis (uncut), Berlin Film Festival. I saw it in the 90s at the Coolidge with the Alloy Orchestra playing a live soundtrack to it (I think I bought the tape of it). I hope they do it again with this restored version.

It happens a lot in life - you seem to be the only one that misses the point while others are full of admiration and praise. Well, I could not even finish watching Metropolis...I suffered through the first 15 minutes and stopped. I don't know why I don't get it, it just bored me to no end.
And of course I would not see the expanded version as I have no hope left for this movie. The only comfort was that my husband was equally bored and happy with my decision to pull the plug.
