Helicopter Silencers Used To Turn All Surfaces Stereo

This is the first thing from CES (the Consumer Electronics Show) that I've heard about that intrigues me, Helicopter silencers used to turn all surfaces stereo: "A failed effort to soften the noise from British military helicopters led to a breakthrough enabling surfaces from mobile telephone screens to car roof liners to be turned into stereo speakers."

The most written about announcement seems to be Panasonic's 150 inch plasma display. Yes that's 12.5 feet and they didn't have a price and it's close to impossible to ship. So why should I care?
