FIOS Woes III

I spent the evening on the phone with various FIOS people and with TiVo. Neither were of much help. FIOS scheduled someone to come out today but I told them they wouldn't have access to the ONT because I wasn't calling my landlord. Via the TiVo diagnostics I found that all the problem channels were at frequency 447,000 kHz. This morning, all 8 problem channels work fine and I cancelled the service call. Gremlins. I hope they don't come back.

We had some similar installation issues, apparently FIOS TV is sensitive to the signal strength at the box and (at least at our house) the original cable wiring needed some "help".

Do you have a neighbor who's a HAM? The 447 MHz is in the amateur band and a poorly shielded coax will act like an antenna.
