Notes from Howard's Sabbatical from Working. The name comes from a 1998 lunch conversation. Someone asked if everything man knew was on the web. I answered "no" and off the top of my head said "Fidel Castro's favorite color". About every 6-12 months I've searched for this. It doesn't show up in the first 50 Google results (this blog is finally first for that search), AskJeeves says it's: red.

New Toy
Yesterday I finally bought a new toy I've wanted for a while. I've done part of the setup, and the cable guy should be here tomorrow morning to finish it up. Review after I've used it a bit.

He doesn't have time. He's too busy blogging. And frankly I'm with him. I should have to "build" something to watch TV. Television, by nature, is a passive exercise. Don't make me work for it.
I got it cheap from Best Buy and I transfered by grandfathered lifetime service. The UI is a lot nicer than the Comcast DVR. You have to use it to understand.

I really don't see how this 800 dollar item plus 19.95 a month is that much better then the current 10 dollar a month DVR I have from Comcast.
